Medical Malpractice, Class Actions and Mass Torts
We all like to trust our doctors but sometimes doctors also make mistakes causing injury or death to a patient. This situation gives rise to medical malpractice claims. I handle some medical malpractice but it depends on which doctor is at fault. I may refer to a colleague. I only refer to who I consider to be the very best in their field. If you believe you have been injured by medical negligence feel free to give me a call. If I can’t help you I will get you to the right person for the job.
Class action and mass tort claims occur usually when a product or other device has caused injury or monetary loss to a large number of people. I am sure everyone reading this has seen advertisements on television for asbestos or mesothelioma claims. You may also have received papers in the mail soliciting you to join a class action for one reason or another.
Current class action lawsuits include claims involving the following products:
- Vaginal mesh
- Defective hip or knee prothesis
Over the years several former clients have contacted me to provide medical records to some firm in far away places to handle a class action case on their behalf. I do not handle class actions or mass tort cases but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about my former clients or others who may be a part of a class action claim. I have located a firm in the Belleville area that is very experienced and focuses his practice on these claims. I believe people are better served being able being able to meet with an actual lawyer within a couple of hours away than they are dealing with a faceless firm hundreds or thousands of miles away.
If you believe you might be part of a class action lawsuit, give me a call and we will meet with a lawyer in person. You will then have the benefit of some personalization to your claim where you otherwise might be one of just a number of claims. I believe personal service to be a much better approach.
